Allise the new Trajan?
May 27th, 2009
The hot new movie Night at the Museum 2 features our Allise font prominently. I think Allise works great in all caps and has a quirky, warm feeling perfect for these kinds of titles.

Fonts license update
May 27th, 2009
Last week I rewrote the Fonthead End User License Agreement to clarify a few things. The big item however is the addition of @font-face support for all Fonthead fonts. I’m hoping that this new flexibility will inspire you to start adding our fonts to your web designs.
Our Kingdom font on children’s book
January 28th, 2009

Another recent children’s book, “Five Little Ducklings” features our Kingdom font on the cover. Many of our fonts seem to fit right into the children’s market quite well. Any other examples out there?
DayDream font on the Bad Dog, Marley! books
January 23rd, 2009

These books by John Grogan feature the whimsical DayDream font from Volume 9. This font fits perfectly into the children’s book theme.
Metal dingbats
January 13th, 2009
A jeweler friend of mine recently pawed through the Font Heads dingbat font and managed to design this robot head in precious metal. I find this very funny. Who knew you could wear your dingbats?

A look back at the first Fonthead website
December 10th, 2008
Way back in 1994, the dawn of the web era, Fonthead was born. The first font collection was created and then advertised alongside a free font that was posted to the now defunct(?) Info-Mac FTP servers. Two years later our first real website went up.
Our site has undergone a few revisions. The latest round was in the works for a very long time. I am quite glad to have the bulk of it behind me! Enjoy the trip down memory lane…

This post was inspired by this post at Veerle’s Blog.
Featured in New Book
December 10th, 2008
A new book called Free Font Index is being published in January 2009 and will feature some of our free fonts. The author, Hans Lijklema, forwarded me some spreads from the book.
This makes me feel like I should get back to making some freeware. It has been a very long time since I last released a free font.
Fonthead Design redesigned!
November 19th, 2008
I have taken quite a bit of time away from developing new fonts, I know. The last volume I produced was in 2004. My family has grown with the arrival of triplets in 2006 making our lives so crazy it has been hard to keep our heads above water. All is well now. Here is the latest scoop:
All Fonthead fonts have been converted to Opentype.
Redesigned the entire site from the ground up.
Released Volume 10.
Hope you like the new Fonthead. We plan to be busy from now on. Thanks for your support!
